Gerusalemme, la cupola che divide |

In nessuna città i simboli contano quanto a Gerusalemme. Ed è per questo che nella Città Santa siamo alla vigilia di un passaggio significativo: lunedì è infatti in programma la dedicazione della ricostruita sinagoga di Hurva, un luogo la cui storia è in qualche modo una parabola dell’ebraismo in Israele. Quella che verrà inaugurata sarà infatti la terza sinagoga di Hurva, dal momento che le due precedenti sono state distrutte in altrettanti conflitti. Il nuovo edificio si candida a diventare, così, il simbolo del rinato quartiere ebraico della Città Vecchia. Quello che oggi – con il suo lindore e i ragazzini delle scuole rabbiniche che giocano nei cortili – è uno dei segni più evidenti dell’ebraismo rifiorito in Terra di Israele.

In the last few days His Beatitude Lubomyr issued an address to the faithful of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and to all people of good will with the appeal to pray for the state throughout the whole year. At the beginning of appeal the head of the UGCC states that “during many years our Church and other churches and religious organizations in pre-election time called the faithful to pray for the nation and for the state of Ukraine... Therefore, there is the impression that it is only necessary to pray during important events.”

Выдающаяся личность, «которая вызывает восхищение широтой деятельности и актуальностью вклада как в церковную, в особенности экуменическую, область, так и в дело защиты Творения»: так кардинал Поль Пупар, председатель на покое Папского совета по культуре, прокомментировал присуждение премии, носящей имя его Фонда, Вселенскому Патриарху Константинопольскому Варфоломею I.

L'Assemblea degli Ordinari Cattolici di Terra Santa (AOCTS) ha tenuto la sua riunione biennale da lunedi, 8 marzo a mercoledì 10 marzo 2010 in Galilea presso la Domus Galilaeae. L'Assemblea è composta da tutti i capi della Chiesa Cattolica in Terra Santa e in questo incontro tutti erano presenti: il presidente dell'Assemblea: il Patriarca Latino Fouad Twal e i suoi tre Vicari, il Vescovo di Nazareth Marcuzzo, il Vescovo Selim Sayegh da Amman e Padre David Neuhaus della Comunità cattolica di lingua Ebraica, così come i due vescovi emeriti, il Patriarca Michel Sabbah e il Vescovo Kamal Bathish.
