ISLAM: MESSAGGIO VESCOVI TEDESCHI PER LA FINE DEL RAMADAN, “FAVORIRE LA CONVIVENZA”
“Favorire la convivenza fiduciosa”: lo ha auspicato oggi mons. Robert Zollitsch, presidente della Conferenza episcopale tedesca (Dbk), in un saluto ai musulmani in Germania diffuso oggi in occasione della fine del Ramadan. “La Chiesa cattolica guarda con grande simpatia alla fedeltà con cui i musulmani osservano le proprie tradizioni religiose”, si legge nel documento. “Auguriamo di tutto cuore che riflettere sulla fede contribuisca a superare le tensioni che dividono cristiani e musulmani in diverse parti della terra”, continua Zollitsch, che menziona la difficile situazione dei cristiani in
Medio Oriente. Il presidente della Dbk ha rivolto inoltre un appello “affinché musulmani e cristiani si impegnino per una libertà di religione completa”, ricordando che “la Chiesa cattolica in Germania si è adoperata pubblicamente e con impegno per le legittime esigenze dei musulmani”. Nel sottolineare che la fine del Ramadan può essere “tempo di riconciliazione e misericordia”, Zollitsch ha infine esortato i musulmani a ribadire l’impegno per la libertà di religione per tutti i credenti, riferendosi espressamente alla situazione in Turchia e della Chiesa di S. Paolo a Tarso: “Speriamo che i cristiani in Turchia possano presto godere di una libertà di religione illimitata”.

“Promote confident cohabitation”: this was the wish expressed today by mgr. Robert Zollitsch, president of the German Bishops Conference (Dbk), in a greeting to Muslims in Germany, published today on the occasion of the end of Ramadan. “The Catholic Church looks with great sympathy to the faithfulness with which Muslims adhere to their own religious traditions”, the document states. “We wish from the deep of our hearts that reflecting on faith may help overcome the tensions that divide Christians and Muslims in several areas of the earth”, continues Zollitsch, who mentions the difficult situation of Christians in the Middle East. The president of Dbk then made an appeal “for Muslims and Christians to work towards full religious freedom”, recalling that “the Catholic Church in Germany has publicly worked hard for the legitimate needs of Muslims”. In highlighting that the end of Ramadan may be a “time of reconciliation and mercy”, Zollitsch finally urged Muslims to confirm their commitment to religious freedom for all believers, speaking explicitly of the situation in Turkey and of the Church of Saint Paul in Tarsus: “We hope Christians in Turkey may soon enjoy unlimited religious freedom”.
