“What does it prevent the heart of man from freely loving? How can one beat inner ghosts conditioning one’s will? What is sin, in essence? What does it make the conscience of man free or slave?”. Those questions will be asked at the 17th International Ecumenical Meeting of Orthodox Spiritualism, taking place at the Monastery of Bose, in the province of Biella, from tomorrow to September 12th. The monastery is the ideal framework to delve into the theme of spiritual struggle in the Orthodox tradition, and to delve into the essential themes of spiritual life, concerning expectations of today’s man and the very traditions of the East and the West, since the monastery is a religious community made up of monks coming from different Christian churches; and since its foundation, the monastery has promoted intense dialogue between different Christian churches. Official delegations of the Churches of the East and the West will take part in the meeting. Prior of Bose Enzo Bianchi and Metropolitan of Minsk Filarete, patriarchal exarch of Belorussia, will open works. The biblical and theological foundations of the spiritual struggle will be faced. The issues of the ecumenical importance of such struggle and its meaning for contemporary man will conclude the meeting.
